The election’s over, the yard signs are gone… but the Common Sense editors kept the receipts. We are closely watching the final affidavits & mail ballots flow in and will update the Scoreboard accordingly.

Forget percentages for a moment. Absolute number of votes tell their own story and allow cross-Ward comparison. The biggest mandates in town this year came from:

  1. Heather Campbell Treasurer: 1,507 votes
  2. Margaret Morris Common Council President: 1,502 votes
  3. Joe Ferris Mayor: 947 votes

These are the names that moved the most pens and punched the most ballots. Whatever happens on Warren Street next year, these are the people Hudson’s power brokers should be listening to.

*Yes, the math isn’t perfect, some races were uncontested, others confined to single wards, but the signals are clear enough.

All of the Wards in Hudson are technically the same size, which means the votes speak volumes. Votes are ranked from most absolute votes to fewest, and while absolute votes are not clout, or rizz (as the kids say….), they do mean a serious mandate.
